We reported here that not only soil microbial communities responded strongly arable cultivation in desert areas, but also microbial functional traits.Agricultural cultivation shifted soil bacterial populations, and it was discovered thatProteobacteria, Acidobacteria and Planctomycetes were enriched in agricultural lands,while Actinobacteria and Firmicutes were enriched in deserts.
