Revisiting the X-ray Quasi Periodic Oscillation in the AGN RE J1034+396

Xray QPO in AGN has timescales of hours or much longer. These timescales,coupled with the requirement to see > 10 cycles to have a significant detection,means that these are challenging to detect. So far the most robust AGN QPO wasfound in an XMMNewton observation of RE J1034+396 in 2007. Subsequentobservations showed that the QPO is transient, emerging only in around half ofthe datasets. There was no XMMNewton observations since 2011 due to the limitedvisibility, but this will recover to up to 80 ks from 2018. We propose torevisit it with both XMMNewton and NuSTAR, in order to investigate its QPO 7years after the last observation and obtain a deeper understanding of its Xrayemission. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
