Millions of people around the world suffer from paralysis, and are dependent on the care provided by others for daily tasks. The quality of their lives can be improved significantly if there exists a method that is capable of taking in neural activity and decode these activities for motor movement. The intra-cortical Brain-Machine Interface (iBMI) is one of the technologies to emerge to tackle this task. In this challenge, we have provided six different neural recordings of non-human primates for participants to design neural decoders to help push the boundary and capabilities of iBMIs. The winning teams will have an opportunity to present their work at the 2024 IEEE BioCAS conference.
