Algorithm used for detecting particles from shadowgraphy images for thermal spray applications

The particle detection algorithm extends the capabilities of the SprayCam diagnostic system. Written in Python, this code enables image analysis of shadowgraphy images. Feature detection methods have been integrated into the framework, which capture image stream and performs real-time analysis and post-processing. The goal of enhancing the features of commercially available software was to analyze feedstock injection in thermal spray applications. It simplifies the collection of particle data during spraying trials, helping to generate a comprehensive dataset for injection optimization or further analysis.
