Narcissus tazetta Corona and Tepal Transcriptome

Chinese narcissus belongs to the Amaryllidaceous family and is a perennial bulbous plant widely cultivated in East Asia and China, with its beautiful flower and rich fragrance serving high ornamental and commercial value. A link between scent and color can be anticipated due to their biochemical origin, as well as their similar biological role. The flower color and fragrance change during the development of Chinese Narcissus. Previous studies either only focused on the change of flower color patter or aromatic compounds, and few studies investigate the correlation of them. In order to address this problem, transcriptome sequencing was carried out in tepals and coronas at different development stages to discover the genes or metabolic pathways that may involve in flower color or fragrance and the correlation between them.
