Voting behaviour in the referendum on the European Constitution in France.<br>Topics: participation in the referendum on the treaty of the establishment of a European Constitution; reasons for not voting; voting decision; reasons for voting in favour or against the European Constitution; time of voting decision; satisfaction with the result of the referendum; assessment of the starting time of the debates on the European Constitution in France as appropriate; attitude towards the following statements: good image of EU institutions, NO victory allows for renegotiations in order to come to a more social text, NO victory allows for renegotiations in order to come to a text which will better defend the interests France, France’s membership in the EU is a good thing, NO victory will decrease France’s influence within the EU, NO victory makes running of European institutions difficult, necessary information available before the referendum, NO victory will make the accession of new countries more difficult, NO victory in some countries will lead to NO votes in other countries, European Constitution is essential to pursue European construction; preferred procedure regarding the treaty of the establishment of a European Constitution: new votes in countries that have not ratified the treaty, application of the treaty only in countries that ratified it, abandon idea of a European Constitution for all member states, another solution. Demography: sex; age; age at end of education; occupation; professional position; region; type of community. Additionally coded was: country; respondent ID; language of the interview; weighting factor.
