Metabarcoding analyses of Pacific pocket mouse diet using non-overlapping, paired end reads of the internal transcribed spacer region of the nuclear ribosomal locus. Our main objective was to validate this method for dietary analyses of this federally listed herbivore for future resource selection studies that will inform habitat restoration.
