Dataset associated with "<b>Establishing the Feasibility of Wearable OPM-MEG for Infant Use</b>"
收藏资源简介:
Two datasets used to demonstrate the feasibility of collecting optically-pumped magnetometer magnetoencephalography data in awake, upright, behaving infants.Infancy is one of the most crucial periods in neurodevelopment, characterized by rapid, dynamic, and widespread structural and functional changes in the brain. Current neuroimaging methods to assess these developmental changes during the first year of life are limited in their ability to acquire data during awake, naturalistic tasks while maintaining adequate spatial and temporal resolution to answer the most pressing questions in neurodevelopment. Recent advances in magnetoencephalography (MEG) sensor technology have the potential to overcome these limitations by utilizing wearable sensors, specifically optically pumped magnetometers (OPM). OPM sensors can be placed closer to the scalp, improving spatial resolution while maintaining the high temporal resolution of MEG, providing high-fidelity brain recordings during naturalistic behaviors. Here, we demonstrate the first-ever collection of OPM-MEG data in awake, behaving, non-neonate infants during the first year of life while seated upright. To inform and guide future work with this population, we provide information on an OPM helmet compliant for infant use, system tolerability in infants during upright tasks, and discuss the future applications of this technology in assessing infant neurodevelopment.
