Application Cards - Organic carbon stored in regional soils between 0-30 cm - third edition

The organic carbon map stored in the soils of the Emilia-Romagna region gives the CO content in Mg/ha in the first 30 cm of soil. The value is estimated considering the distribution of different types of soil and the incidence of non-soil surfaces, understood as areas occupied by surface water, urban and infrastructure. The representation of the territory takes place through a raster with pixels with a side of 100 m. The attribution of the value to the cell is the result of a geostatistical analysis in the plains and of Digital Soil Mapping in the Apennines; the distinction between areas occupied by soil and those occupied by non-soil derives from the Land Use Charter 2017 and 2020, drawn up by the Digital Innovation, Data, Technology and Archives Sector of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
