In Arabidopsis thaliana, TERMINAL FLOWER 1 (TFL1) is a PHOSPHATIDYL ETHANOLAMINE-BINDING PROTEIN that represses floral transition and flower development by forming a complex with the bZIP transcription factor FD. In this study, we investigated the dual role of TFL1 in repressing flowering, using quantification of meristem morphology, gene expression profiling, transcriptomics and genetics. In particular, we performed RNA-sequencing for meristems harvested from Col-0, tfl1-18, fd-3 and fd-3 tfl1-18 throughout floral transition.
