Mid West Estuaries - Creating Corridors for Wildlife - Project 2

The Chapman River and Greenough River estuaries in the Geraldton area are included in one of only thirty four national biodiversity hotspots that are internationally recognised. The estuaries are located in the urban/peri-urban landscape of Geraldton and are under significant threat. The City works in partnership with community to improve the extent, connectivity and condition of riparian vegetation of the estuaries. The estuaries support temperate coastal saltmarsh threatened ecologicalcommunities which provide habitat for birds, including migratory species listed under EPBC Act. This Green Army Project will help to strategically restore these river corridors.
