Data from "No indication of background color matching in a population of the brown-green polymorphic admirable grasshopper (Syrbula admirabilis) "

This Excel file contains five sheets with all the relevant information analysed in the manuscript entitled "No indication of background color matching in a population of the brown-green polymorphic admirable grasshopper (<i>Syrbula admirabilis</i>)". 1) Sheet "colorData": includes data on hue variation between nymphs, imagoes and the paint used in the containers2) Sheet "nymphColorPrefN=50": contains background color preference data (i.e. background choices and pellets) for the 50 nymphs analysed in the experiment.3) Sheet "repeatabilityN=36nymphs": contains data for the 36 nymphs with enough data for the two possible container orientations during the experiment.4) Sheet "imagoControlPhaseN=66": includes the background color preference data for the 66 imagoes that were analysed during the control (pre-manipulation) phase of the color-manipulation experiment.5) Sheet "imagoColorManipulationN=21": contains the background color preference data before (control) and after (experimental) the color manipulation for the 21 imagoes used in the analyses.Note: All variable headings have a comment inserted where the meaning of each variable is explained.<br><br>
