Analysis of the gut microbiome in response to nutritional iron deficiency anaemia

Iron deficiency anaemia is a global health concern that affects developed and underdeveloped countries. Iron metabolism and bioavailability is closely linked to the gut microbiome and in this sense, gut health is key to enable an adequate recovery of iron deficiency anaemia. This data explores the changes in the gut microbiome as a hallmark of gut health produced in response of an experimentally induced iron deficiency anaemia.
