AMD precipitates Targeted Locus (Loci)

This study was conducted on materials from experimental plots at an acid mine drainage site in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Six years after amendment of iron oxy(hydr)oxide precipitates, we compared bacterial diversity in reclaimed precipitates supporting dense successional vegetation with control precipitates supporting native biological crusts. Bacterial diversity was explored using 454 pyrosequencing of 16S rRNA genes (V1-V5 region) in upper layers (adhering to roots and crusts) and lower layers (below roots and crusts)
