Peatland soil in ChangBai Mountain, China Raw sequence reads

Peatlands restoration is an efficient way to enhance soil carbon sequestration and mitigate climate change. However, due to the incomplete understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying the peatland succession processes, how to recover peatlands effectively is still a problem to be resolved. To give insight to the biological mechanisms underlying peatland restore processes, in this study, the soil properties, enzymatic activities, and bacterial and archaeal communities of natural and restored peatlands were compared under similar water gradient.
