Simulation data for "Response of atmospheric convection to surface drying: new insights from isentropic analysis"

This repository contains the following data and files used to run the simulations in Régibeau-Rockett and O'Neill (under review): "Response of atmospheric convection to surface drying: new insights from isentropic analysis": 1) Input files to use to rerun our simulations (5 main simulations and the 5 simulations used to construct the initial soundings for each of these). For each simulation, the following input is available: a. namelist.input file b. First set of 5 restart files (each set is its own .zip file) c. input_sounding files (note that the same file is used for the five initial simulations) The simulation corresponding to each of these files is denoted by the text added to the end of the file. E.g.: the namelist.input file for the main beta=1 simulation is named namelist.input_1 NOTE: In order to use these files to run the simulations, the added label at the end of each file must be removed first. In the previous example, '_1' would need to be removed from the end of the file name. 2) First 7 snapshots of data from each of the simulations (each set included as .zip files), which were output before the first set of restart files (one .zip file each). 3) The same sets of files as in 1) and 2) for our sensitivity test simulations. For simplicity, for each sensitivity test simulation all of these are consolidated in a single .zip file with a name beginning with 'allfiles'. 4) Modified source code (.F) files used in compiling version 21.1 of the Bryan Cloud Model 1 (CM1). All modifications to the code are denoted by "!LRR EDIT". If CM1 is recompiled without the use of this modified source file, any simulations that are run using the resulting executable file will not be identical to our simulations.
