Research Background This research is situated in the international contemporary jewellery field. This research was the first project where a jeweller explored and interpreted a personal experience of Antarctica to produce jewellery objects that used contemporary jewellery to depict the Antarctic landscape. Ic core was in the collection of Gallery So in London and was selected to be part of this Craft Council exhibition. Research Significance This research was presented in "I AM HERE is a Crafts Council touring exhibition and features almost 100 works of exciting and innovative studio jewellery created by the most significant British and international makers of the last five decades - each piece a powerful reflection of the spirit of its generation and acting as a precedent for the future." The Crafts Council is the peak body for craft in England. The Crafts Council is supported using public funding by Arts Council England. British Crafts Council, Touring exhibition of Contemporary Jewellery, toured for two years in the United Kingdom. The first venue for I AM HERE was The Upper Gulbenkian Gallery at the Royal College of Art, London 9 to 25 November 2015. Research Contribution The work was selected and is situated in the development of innovative dialogues around jewellery and craft practice internationally since 1970. The work responds to the worn object and engaged with contemporary challenges in jewellery and explores what is precious today in jewellery through new approaches in conceptual and material arts-based research.
