资源简介:
In Bangladesh, rice production is severely disrupted in coastal areas due to sudden floods with saline water. BINA (Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture) released a dual (salinity and submergence) tolerant rice variety, named as RC-251 (Binadhan-23) for tidal-saline and submergence prone areas of Bangladesh. In addition, gamma irradiation at different dosages were applied to Binadhan-23. After gamma irradiation, more than 50,000 mutants were created in M1 generation. Then 53 mutants with noticeable desired phenotypes were isolated and harvested in M2 generation and grown in M3 with careful observations. At M4 generation, 19 homogenous mutants were planted under salinity and submergence stress in experimental shed from where 3 M5 lines were selected and grown to subsequent M6 generation. Finally three mutants RC-251/300/15(2) M6, RC-251/250/49(1)M6, RC-251/350/59(4)M6 along with their parent were selected for whole genome sequencing to understand the effect of gamma irradiation on Binadhan-23.
