Morphometric data - Pascua marecoralliensis, a new species of goby (Gobiiformes, Gobiidae) from the central Coral Sea with validation of the genus Pascua

Morphometric data are presented from twenty-four images compiled from online databases, published taxonomic works and museum collections (17 Hetereleotris images from 14 spp., 7 Pascua images including P. caudilinea, P. sticta and P. readerae) and images of all specimens of the new species, Pascua marecoralliensis. Images were selected if they showed a clear, direct lateral view of an intact specimen.From each image, 22 measurements were taken using the line properties tool of Adobe Illustrator. Measurements were selected to capture broad differences in the shapes of the head, body and fins of the fishes (Fig. S1; Table S2). Data (except for SL, where available, and image length in pixels) are presented as a proportion of the standard length in the images.
