A strain 5-10 newly isolated from a medicinal plant (Curculigo capitulata) exhibited a high antifungal activity against Foc TR4. Based on the result of genome sequencing, the genome size of Streptomyces sp. 5-10 was 9,528,477 bp with a G + C content of 71.63%, including 75 tRNAs and 4 rRNAs. A total of 58 putative gene clusters responsible for antimicrobial metabolite biosynthesis were identified, such as genes for biosynthesis of non-ribosomal lipopeptides and polyketides. Antimicrobial resistance genes were also identified in the genome. Hence, Streptomyces sp. 5-10 could be used as a potential biocontrol agent to suppress fusarium wilt of banana in the future biological fertilizer.
