Harmonized nonhuman cancer database

Here we present a harmonized dataset including tumors from 41,539 individuals across 825 species. Each tumor is assigned the NCBI taxonomy ID for the species where it was found; a tissue-type ID specifying body site if applicable; and a cell type ID. Sheet Name Descriptions: Data per Species Each row contains the aggregate data corresponding to all individuals of a given species within a given report. Data per Tumor Each row contains the data corresponding to an individual tumor. Column Name Descriptions: Primary Taxonomic Group Variable-rank group defined as the shallowest NCBI taxon containing tumors from at least 10 distinct species, ensuring nonoverlapping groups and balanced representation despite uneven sampling across taxa Case Report Enriched Group Taxonomic group (≥10 species with tumors) identified among the top 50 groups most overrepresented by case reports Aggregated Tumor Names All tumor names as they appear in the source report* for all individuals in the group. Some individuals have multiple tumors. *In select cases, clear formatting errors were corrected (e.g. sarcoam -> sarcoma). Individuals Observed Total number of individual animals under observation (including individuals with no tumors) if the report is a Prevalence Report.
