Admission Registers record a range of details taken when children were enrolled at the school. In this volume girls and boys are listed separately on opposite pages in chronological order by date of admission. From 1948 until 1960 each pupil is registered with a consecutive running number (eg. 1/54, 2/55...27/59). After 1960 this sequence starts anew for each year (eg. 1/60, 1/61...1/64).Information recorded includes; date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving; information on parent or guardian including name, residence and occupation; columns for listing the date of admission to each class or grade; the date of leaving school; and the occupation entered into upon leaving or any subsequent schools attended.The front cover of the volume lists directions for the teacher to complete the volume correctly. These stipulations included; pupils name to be written in full; register numbers must be read consecutively, and no pupil's name is to be re-entered or re-written; a list of religious denominations and their abbreviations are provided for Church of England (C. of E.), Roman Catholic (R.C.), Presbyterian (Pres) and Methodist (Meth); dates for pupils changing classes must be recorded; and the dates of pupils leaving the school must also be recorded.
