Quantification of time losses in rail transport due to signal passed at danger
收藏资源简介:
The project focuses on the quantification of time losses caused by railway incidents involving unauthorised passing of signals at danger, which usually lead to complete stops, partial traffic restrictions and sometimes serious accidents. The project aims to analyse the economic losses caused by this type of incident in rail passenger transport. These losses can then be compared with the costs of potential infrastructure changes to minimise their occurrence and impact. For the selected period, detailed data on all relevant incidents in the specified category were collected. Once the necessary data on time delays and passenger numbers had been obtained, the total value of lost passenger hours could be determined. This value was then multiplied by the time value, differentiated for national and regional journeys. The project's key contributions are a detailed analysis of time losses caused by unauthorised stop signal incidents and a quantification of the consequences of traffic restrictions on the Czech railway network. These results can inform investment decisions in railway infrastructure and help identify changes to minimise the risk of such events disrupting normal operations.
