Key success factors underpinning value delivery from electronic Clinical Decision Support (e-CDS) in the Emergency Department: An in-depth Exploration

In this white paper we explore the issue of electronic clinical decision support (e-CDS) in the Emergency Care setting. The work is the key output of a sabbatical in Digital Health undertaken by the author Dr Andrew Blunt in the Faculty of IT at Monash University. The approach to the work was a mixed methods study involving an international literature review and key stakeholder interviews with Australian healthcare and health informatics experts. The findings from the work are extensive and have been presented in response to several key research questions that framed the study. The resultant findings can help inform the ongoing design, production and real-world optimisation of e-CDS tools in the Emergency care setting on the international stage
