It's Like a Dark Patterns Paradise: New Findings from Brazilian Mobile Apps in Light of International Research

This dataset contains: Recordings of occurrences of the new DP cases: (1) ”Terms of Service/Privacy Policy in another language” and ”Terms of Service/Privacy Policy out of bounds”; (2) ”Ads with layers”; (3) ”Complete a task to receive rewards”; (4) ”Watch an AD to receive rewards”; (5) Use of persuasive elements to evoke emotions and induce the user to do or avoid do an action”. Deceptive Pattern Cases: spreadsheet containing the categorization of Deceptive Pattern Cases from our study Database - Finding DPs on Applications: spreadsheet containing the overall results and, by each app category, the prevalence of Deceptive Patterns in 100 mobile trending apps.
