Memory scrutinized through electrical brain stimulation: a review of 80 years of experiential phenomena (Curot et al. 2017).

Electrical Brain Stimulations (EBS) sometimes induce reminiscences, but it is largely unknown what type of memories they can trigger. We reviewed 80 years of literature on reminiscences induced by EBS and added our own database. This database includes all these reminiscences. We classified them according to modern conceptions of memory. <br><br>You can find the results of our analyses in our article (see reference below). We demonstrated that EBS mostly induced poorly contextualized and detailed memories. This overrepresentation of vaguely contextualized memories fits with the dynamic and progressive semantisation of episodic memories. The location of EBS influences the qualitative nature of induced memories suggesting that memory may be activated in a predictable manner. <br><br><br>This database is regularly updated (last update - september 2019).<br><br><br>This database is provided for research purpose.
