Humulus lupulus strain:Celeia Transcriptome or Gene expression

We used NGS identification approach as a feasible alternative to find the causing agent of severe stunting in hops which was first observed in several hop gardens in Slovenia in 2007. The symptoms of unknown and aggressive disease found in our hop gardens were resembling description of hop stunt disease caused by Hop stund viroid (HSVd) and they include plant stunting, leaf yellowing and down curling, small cone formation and dry root rot. The disease spread extremely rapidly and by the end of 2013 disease was identified in 13 hop farms and more than 20 ha of hop gardens were eradicated. The NGS approach confirmed the presence of Citrus bark cracking viroid (CBCVd) in infected plants.
