This is a study to compare Illumina Miseq, HiSeq and GAIIx with Ion Torrent and PacBio. 4 test genomes with widely different GC content are sequenced with each platform. Specifically these are Bordetella pertussis (67.7 % GC, with some regions in excess of 90% GC content), Salmonella Pullorum (52% GC), Staphylococcus aureus (33%GC) and Plasmodium falciparum (19.3% GC, with some regions close to 0% GC content).
