Ferroptosis has been a subject of extensive research during the past decade. Ferroptosis has been touted as a potential mechanism for cancer therapy. Glioma cells have been shown to be sensitive to ferroptosis. In addition, glioma-immune interaction and cytotoxicity involves ferroptosis induction. Therefore, understanding how glioma cells resist ferroptosis and respond to it is of utmost importance to develop future therapies. Here, we conducted genome-wide CRISPR negative screening using U87MG cell line and tested two ferroptosis inducing agents, Erastin and RSL3. Our analysis revealed extensive involvment of ribosome quality control and translational mechanisms in ferroptosis response in glioma cells.
