Impact of Borrelia burgdorferi infection and doxycycline treatment on macaque immune response and gut microbiome - Single Cell RNA seq

Japanese macaques were infected with 10^4 spirochetes then were or were not treated with doxycycline after 4-6 weeks of infection. Treatment lasted for 3 weeks. We longitudinally collected blood and performed single cell RNA sequencing to monitor the transcriptional immune response to infection and subsequent antibiotic treatment in our three experimental groups (infected only, infected plus doxycycline, and doxycycline only).
