EU ETS allowances auctioned or sold for stationary installations 2023, by country

European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) allowances auctioned or sold by Germany totaled 90.6 MtCO₂e in 2023. Poland followed, with a roughly 65 MtCO₂e of allowances auctioned or sold. One allowance – or carbon credit – gives the holder the right to emit one tCO₂e.
