INVERSE PROBLEM OF DETERMINING THE SOURCE FUNCTION FOR THE ONE-DIMENSIONAL TELEGRAPH EQUATION

This article investigates the inverse problem of determining an unknown source function for the one-dimensional telegraph equation, which is one of the important areas in the theory of partial differential equations. The mathematical formulation of the problem is presented, and the role of additional integral or pointwise observation conditions is discussed. The paper also examines the physical and practical significance of this inverse problem, as well as the main analytical and numerical methods used for its solution, including the Fourier method, the Laplace transform, and Tikhonov regularization.
