Part of a major inter-institutional program of study of the Southern Oceans, specifically of the western boundary currents of the South Atlantic. A detailed hydrographic survey of the confluence of the Brazil and Falkland currents and associated features will be conducted in order to more fully resolve and quantify the impact of this region on the general circulation.
