Plastisphere microbiome on LAHB film at deep-sea floor

This project is focused on the metagenomics and metatranscriptomics of plastisphere microbiomes established at the deep-sea floor. The lactate-based polyester, poly(D-lactide-co-3-hydroxybutyrate) (LAHB), film was submerged at water depth of 855 m . MAGs of the dominant microbes that might be correlated with oceanic plastic degradation are extracted from the plastisphere metagenomes. In situ gene expression profile was also analyzed to know metabolic pathway for the oceanic LAHB biodegradation process.
