EU-LAC MUSEUMS – website and databases

EU-LAC MUSEUMS – website and databases Museums and Community: Concepts, Experiences, and Sustainability in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. One of the objectives of this initiative was to encourage small community museums to contribute to a global online inventory. To achieve this, a “short version” of the inventory was created, which could be complemented by researchers and other contributors. This “short version” allowed documents (PDF), videos, images and audio files to be uploaded quickly, while respecting copyright and the ownership of community holders. WP2 was coordinated by participant 3, the Museu Nacional de Arqueologia, Portugal (MNA/DGPC), with Mário Antas as team coordinator. This website, the web templates and the database were developed by José Barbieri - Memoria Imaterial CRL (www.memoriamedia.net) for MNA/DGPC, using open-source software, assisted all partners in uploading their content and was also responsible for maintaining the portal. Partners introduced all content they considered relevant to the project’s goals into the database. When requested by partners, the lead partner also uploaded content that already existed on the web or on social media.
