The WFD calls for water typing based on the main regional abiotic and geomorphological characteristics (Annex II). In a project of the National Working Group Water, landscapes with largely the same geological (substrate) and geomorphological (relief) characteristics were combined and described into waterscapes and characterised by the relief the small and medium flowing waters by their valley forms.
