资源简介:
This study discovered that Caenorhabditis elegans can withstand high-dose radiation when pre-exposed to low temperatures (4?C) for 4 hours. The metabolites released by C. elegans target guanylyl cyclase GCY-5, which reduces lysosome acidification and enhances lipid translocation via FAT-5/SCD5, mitigating radiation damage. This pathway was also confirmed in 293T cells, suggesting a new target for radiation damage research. Analysis of the TCGA database suggests that assessing SCD5 expression in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) patients could help evaluate their suitability for radiotherapy.
