资源简介:
This survey forms part of a major project carried out in connection with the union referenda in 1992 (Maastricht) and in 1993 (Edinburgh). The main part of the data material, which was collected by the Danish Gallup Institute at the request of an election research group consisting of Jørgen Goul Andersen, Jens Hoff, Hans Jørgen Nielsen, Steen Sauerberg and Torben Worre, is based on daily voting barometers (the so-called CATI-measurements), but the project also includes omnibus surveys carried out as interviews in the home or by means of self-administered questionnaires. The project comprises the following surveys at the DDA: # #DDA-1835: Gallup Interviews Before the Union Referendum 1992. #DDA-1836: Gallup Interviews After the Union Referendum 1992. #DDA-1837: Gallup CATIs Before and After the Union Referendum 1992. #DDA-1838: Gallup CATIs Before and After the Union Referendum 1993. #DDA-1839: Gallup Interviews After the Union Referendum 1993. # #This survey contains data collected as telephone voting barometers before and after the referendum. # #The following background variables are included in the data material: #The respondent's sex, age and marital status; size of the household, number of adults (persons aged 13 or more) and children, and age of the children; the respondent's position in the household; the respondent's education, occupational status, public or private employment and income; gross household income; the housewife's occupational status; housing conditions and ownership of the dwelling as well as geographical location and degree of urbanization. # #In addition to this, the following special questions (dealing with topical events) are included: #Before the referendum: #Which party the respondent voted for at the general election on 12 December, 1990; which party the respondent would vote for at a hypothetical general election on the day after the interview; what the respondent voted at the referendum on 2 June, 1992; whether the respondent will vote yes or no at the referendum on 18 May, 1993; most important reasons for voting yes, no or not voting; vote at a hypothetical referendum on Danish membership of the EC and at a hypothetical referendum on resigning from the EC; attitude to a number of opinions about the EC co-operation (Denmark should withdraw from the EC; the individual member countries should maintain full independence and have the right of veto in connection with EC decisions; the individual member countries should to an increased degree leave the decisions to the EC and submit to the community; the EC should in time develop into the United States of Europe with a joint European government); assessment of the degree of objectivity and information in the yes and the no-campaigns, respectively; whether the respondent has watched TV debates about the EC; whether the respondent has participated in election meetings in connection with the referendum; positive/negative connotations of the word union; knowledge of the coming tax reform; whether tax reliefs will depend on a yes at the referendum; importance of the result of the referendum for the other EC countries; whether it should be compulsory to vote; what the respondent thinks will be the result of the referendum; whether the government should issue the writs for a general election if the result is a no; information and events which have influenced how the respondent will vote; best source of information on the union treaty; assessment of a number of consequences in case of a no (Denmark must leave the EC; the other EC countries continue and establish the union without Denmark; Denmark stays as a member but loses influence; the union treaty is annulled and the EC continues at the present level); areas in which the Danish society may be influenced by a no (unemployment; personal financial conditions; the conditions for trade and industry; tax); whether the respondent has changed attitude from a no to a yes; whether it is a good thing to hold a new referendum; how many of Denmark's demands were met in the Edinburgh Treaty and whether the result was satisfactory; what the respondent would vote on 18 May if Denmark had not gotten the Edinburgh Treaty; whether the respondent thinks the referendum is about the same or about something different; whether it is right to hold referenda on the union or whether the Danish Parliament should have made the decision; attitude to a number of statements on Denmark's relation to the union (Denmark should be a member of the Western European Union; Denmark should participate in the EC work concerning minimum wage, nature protection, consumer protection, wage-earners' rights and working environment); Denmark should not take part in the part of the Monetary Union which concerns a joint currency; the European Parliament should be able to reject bills proposed by the Commission or Council of Ministers; Denmark should not participate in a joint defence policy; Denmark should continue to participate in the European Monetary System; Denmark should participate in the international police co-operation but not in a police force based on EC legislation; union citizenship should not give the same rights as a Danish citizenship; Denmark should participate in a joint foreign policy; Denmark should participate in the EC co-operation about foreign aid). #After the referendum: #What the respondent voted at the referendum on 18 May; time of decision; most important reasons for voting yes and no, respectively; reasons why the respondent has changed attitude from the referendum in 1992; best sources of information on the union treaty; whether it was good that the presentation programmes on TV included all the parties and movements; whether the respondent has listened to the radio election programmes; whether the respondent listened to the election programmes on the day of the referendum; and what the respondent would vote at a hypothetical referendum on Danish membership of the EC and at a hypothetical referendum on resigning from the EC
