Acanthamoeba castellanii strain:ATCC-30010 (Neff) Genome sequencing and assembly

This project aims to re-sequence the genome of Acanthamoeba castellanii strain Neff with long and short read technologies for the generation of an updated reference genome sequence. This new reference sequence will be a resource for molecular genetics experiments in the laboratory to study gene transfer. Genome sequencing of mutants of Acanthamoeba castellanii strain Neff will also be done in an effort to understand patterns of transgene integration in this organism.
