Single Cell RNA Sequencing Identifies Subsets of Hepatic Stellate Cells and Myofibroblasts in Liver Fibrosis

Hepatic stellate cells and activated myofibroblasts display a high heterogeneity in healthy and fibrotic liver characterized by differential expression of collagens and chemokines. Hepatic stellate cells and myofibroblasts were isolated from healthy and early fibrotic liver (3 weeks CCl4) and subjected to single cell RNA sequencing analysis. In vivo activated fibroblasts were then compared with in vitro generated.
