Minutes of Meeting: Management of Library Associations Section, 03 June 2025

The MLAS Orientation Meeting for the newly elected members and MLAS SC Meeting was chaired by Loida Garcia Febo, MLAS Chair. The orientation was to welcome and brief the six newly elected MLAS SC members on the activities of MLAS. The Orientation Meeting include topics such as MLAS Standing Committee, Membership and Roles; IFLA GB top leadership; MLAS contribution to IFLA WLIC; MLAS Mid-Term in 2020, 2022,2023,2024 and 2025; collaboration events with library associations and role of MLAS Officers. The MLAS SC Meeting was held immediately after the orientation session with the newly elected MLAS members as observers. The MLAS SC meeting discussed the following matters: IFLA Elections 2025; IFLA Strategy 2025-2029; IFLA Code of Conduct for Volunteers; IFLA Governance Structure Health Check; IFLA Townhall and Call for Expression of Interest to host IFFLA WLIC 2026 and 2027; 2025 MLAS Building Strong Library Associations Initiative: Financial Sustainability and IFLA MLAS Advocacy -Impact Evaluation Project; New Professionals Special Interest Group and Women, Information and Libraries Special Interest Group.
