Azm affects the integrity of the bronchial epithelial barrier. To better understand these unexpected effects of Azm on bronchial epithelium we have now investigated global changes in gene expression in VA10 cells VA10 cells were cultivated in air-liquid interphase (ALI) conditions for 22 days with and without Azm. RNA was isolated at days 4, 10 and 22 and run through high-throughput RNA sequencing.
