Responses of the microbiota from sugarcane rhizosphere to different levels of drought stress

In this metatranscriptome study we evaluated the effect of drought stress on the microbiota associated with sugarcane rhizosphere, with the aim to provide new information about plant-microbiota interaction and how the microorganisms could help plants to survive in adverse conditions. Our results indicated that drought stress results in an increase of exudation of some organic acids by the root and changes the gene expression of the microbiota.
