This experiment combined 16SrDNA, metagenomic sequencing, and metabolomic analysis. In this experiment, 10 cows each of growing heifers, heifers, and lactating cows were selected for sample collection in April and August , respectively. Rumen fluid were collected, and gauze filtered to obtain rumen fluid immediately transferred to a liquid nitrogen tank for measurement of macrogenomics, 16SrDNA, and metabolomics. Here, we characterized both the changes in rumen microbial communities and their functional potential derived from rumen fluid samples in cows during different growth stages and climates.
