Sars-CoV-2 Variants of Concern (VOC), such as Delta and Omicron have harbored mutations, which increased viral infectivity or ability to evade neutralizing antibodies. Immunocompromised patients might be a source to some of these emerging variants. Here, we describe the emergence of several minority variants in an immunocompromised patient with a long-term SARS-CoV-2 infection and show that some of these mutations became fixed in the viral population during the treatment period. This emphasize the importance for ongoing surveillance of immunocompromised patients.
