Characterization of the Vaginal Microbiome in Colombian Patients with Recurrent Vulvovaginal Candidiasis

Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is the second most common cause of vaginitis worldwide. Additionally, there is a phenomenon known as recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (RVC), which is defined as at least three episodes of VVC in 12 months. The objective of this study was to characterize the vaginal microbiome in patients diagnosed with VVC using metagenomic sequencing.
