U-Pb ages of zircon from tuff layers at Peijiawan in the Guanyin Gorge anticline, southern segment of the Huayingshan tectonic belt

In this study, zircon samples were collected from the volcanic tuff layers of Peijiawan section in the Guanyin Gorge anticline. The concordant ages of the volcanic ash in the upper Permian Longtan Formation(~260Ma) suggest that its sedimentary age is at the Guadalupian–Lopingian boundary, making it similar in age to the rapid eruption of the Emeishan basalt. The zircon U–Pb ages near the PTB(~252Ma) obtained from the Peijiawan section can be compared with the ages from global standard stratiform profiles in Meishan, South China, as well as with ages near other PTB sites in the upper Yangtze block. Zircon U–Pb dating of two tuff layers at the bottom of the third member of the Lower Triassic Feixianguan Formation constrains the depositional timing to ~250 Ma and the syn-depositional fault activity time to ~249 Ma. This dataset includes tables, which supported the paper we've submitted to the journal ‘Tectonics’. The title of this paper is ' Inversion Tectonics of the Upper Yangtze Craton near the Permo-Triassic Boundary: Implications for Transition from Paleo-Tethys Oceanic Subduction to Continental Collision'. (The zircon U-Pb analyses include the zircon grain separation, detrital zircon mounting and element ratio and concentration measurement using LA-ICP-MS method. All the above analysis were carried out in the Isotope Laboratory of Southwest Petroleum University.
