The aim of this study was to systematically review the available scientific data on Acacia dieback, to identify current gaps in the literature, and to reveal the most important causal pathogens affecting its productivity, linking their distribution with that of Acacia across the world.This systematic review was performed according to the PRISMA guidelines, on three electronic databases: PubMed, Web of Science (WoS) and Google Scholar. The search was conducted on the combination of a specific set of keywords was searched according to three search queries: (i) Acacia dieback; (ii) Dieback in <i>Vachellia</i> and <i>Senegalia</i>; and (iii) Agents associated with Acacia dieback.<b> </b>Different combinations of keywords using ‘AND’ and ‘OR’ included ‘<i>Acacia’</i>, ‘dieback’, ‘<i>Senegalia’</i>, ‘<i>Vachelia’</i>, ‘fungi’, ‘bacteria’, and ‘virus’.Here we provide the total of 608 records retrieved from the three freely available electronic databases used in the present search – PubMed, WoS and Google Scholar.
