study of Bolbitis sinensis species complex

Identifying species and clarifying phylogenetic relationships are the fundamental goals of species delimitation. However, it is often challenging and controversial about how to delimit species based on morphologies, geographic distribution, as well as genome information. Previously, two new species of pantropical fern genus Bolbitis, Bolbitis multipinna and B. longiaurita, were published mainly based on their morphological characters, which are morphologically close and sympatric with Bolbitis sinensis. Furthermore, these three species were phylogenetically nested with each other and cannot form monophyletic branches separately. To resolve the ambiguous relationships among Bolbitis sinensis species complex, we performed RAD sequencing in 65 individuals from five populations of B. sinensis species complex.
