VPRS 12698 General Correspondence Files, Annual Single Number System

This series consisted of correspondence relating to the delivery of correctional programs in Victoria. It commenced in 1983 with the creation of VA 1063 Office of Corrections. In 1992, the Office of Corrections was abolished and replaced by the Correctional Services Division within VA 3085 Department of Justice. The series is believed to have continued without interruption through this change until the end of 1994. At this time the division began to register its correspondence files as part of the Department's Records and Correspondence Management System (RCMS).
